Report: Five Premier League clubs have expressed interest in 26-year-old Spurs player

According to a report in 90min, the race for Harry Winks’ signature is now heating up, with as many as five Premier League clubs expressing interest in the midfielder.

This week, reports emerged that Everton are set to step up their interest in Winks, with Football Insider claiming that the Toffees have made the Tottenham man one of their main priorities this summer.

The report added that Spurs value the midfielder at £20m and Frank Lampard’s men have started negotiations with the North London club over a deal.

The Daily Mail subsequently claimed that Spurs and Everton have even held discussions over using Winks as a makeweight in a deal to bring Richarlison from Goodison Park to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

90min claim the Toffees are far from the only Premier League side to have expressed an interest in the England international, with the likes of Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leicester and Wolves are also keen on the Spurs man.

The report adds that Tottenham have also offered Winks to Scottish giants Rangers.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not surprised that Winks is generating so much interest as he will be a very useful player in the right system. While the 26-year-old does have clear defensive shortcomings off the ball, he remains one of the better midfielders in the Premier League in possession.

If Winks has aspirations of breaking back into the England set-up, a move to Rangers seems unlikely at this stage of his career.
