Report: Five senior Tottenham players are expected to leave the club this summer

It could well be another busy summer at Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with a number of players set to leave the club as well as new players coming in. Now, sources at Football Insider have named five first-team players who are destined for the exit door.

Spurs have made solid progress under Ange Postecoglou already in his first year at the club, but the Australian is expected to upgrade his squad once again in the summer.

With new signings on the way, a handful of senior players will need to vacate an already bloated Spurs squad at the end of the season to allow the Lilywhites to work alongside domestic and European squad registration rules.

Likely exits spring no surprises for Spurs fans

The names heading for the exit door will not necessarily come as a surprise to most Spurs fans, with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Sergio Reguilon, and Joe Rodon tipped to leave the club by Football Insider’s sources.

In the case of Ndombele, it is believed he is “not expected to wear the Spurs jersey again,” and, despite a contract running to next summer, the Frenchman will be offered around this year.

Giovani Lo Celso also “looks set to depart” this summer, with the Argentine unhappy at his inability to “break into the team” under Postecoglou.

Bryan Gil is next up on the list, with the young winger having “underwhelmed” during his time at Tottenham. It is suggested that, for the “right price,” Spurs will cut their losses on the Spaniard.

Another Spaniard heading for the exit is Sergio Reguilon, with it now looking “increasingly unlikely” that he has a future at Spurs after spending the last two seasons out on loan and Tottenham looking to “free up space” for new signings.

And finally, Joe Rodon, who has impressed while on loan at Leeds United in the Championship this season. Spurs are reportedly “willing to sanction” a permanent exit for the Welshman.

I would be very surprised if any of these players are still on Tottenham’s books by the start of next season. The only difficulty will be in getting someone to sign Ndombele, but we should just release him for nothing at this point.
