Report: Former Real Madrid boss is an option for Spurs

According to a report by The Sun, former Manchester United and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is keen to take over the reins at either Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal.

The Portuguese manager, who has been without a job since being sacked by Manchester United last December, is reportedly interested in managing a third Premier League club.

No manager in history has been able to win the League or European titles at three different English clubs and it is suggested that the 56-year-old wants to build a lasting legacy by doing just that.

While there has already been a lot of speculation linking Mourinho with a move to Spurs (Daily Mail), he was spotted in attendance at the Emirates during Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Vitoria last week.

With both Pochettino and Emery under pressure at their respective clubs, it appears the special one is ready to pounce if one of the two jobs in North London becomes available.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think appointing Jose Mourinho will be a poor mistake as his methods and ideas seem to be outdated at present. If Tottenham’s goal is to bridge the gap with the top two, then we need a young and progressive manager. I still believe we need to show trust in Pochettino for the remainder of the season and reevaluate things next summer.
