Report: Former Tottenham trialist tipped to break club’s transfer sale record

Former Tottenham trialist Andreas Schjelderup has been tipped to break Danish side FC Nordsjaelland’s transfer record when the club decide to cash in.

The 17-year-old was named in The Guardian’s 2021 edition of the 60 best young talents in world football, who claim he could demand a hefty transfer fee when the time arrives.

Kamaldeen Sulemana currently stands as Nordsjaelland’s most expensive sale after the winger joined Rennes in a deal worth £13.5 million over the summer.

The Guardian add that Schjelderup attracted plenty of interest across Europe and had spells on trial at Spurs, alongside the likes of Liverpool, Juventus and Bayern Munich, as well as visiting the academies of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven several times each.

The Norway U21 international eventually decided to sign for Nordsjaelland in July of 2020 and earned a promotion to the club’s first-team squad at the start of this year.

Schjelderup, who can be used in both a midfield and forward role, has registered six goals and four assists in 27 appearances for the Danish outfit, which earned him a brand new contract at the club last month.

A talent of Schjelderup’s quality will be one to keep an eye on in the future, and it will be interesting to see how much he will fetch Nordsjaelland going forward. Hopefully, this doesn’t become one that will get away from Spurs, though.
