Report: Forward formerly on Spurs’ radar said to available in January

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Real Madrid are exploring the possibility of loaning out forward Luka Jovic in the January transfer window.

The forward has failed to hit the expected heights since signing for the Spanish giants in the summer. The Serbian international has so far managed only one goal in 12 appearances this season (transfermarkt.com).

It is suggested that Madrid are considering loaning him out in order to help him continue his development.

The 21-year-old shot to prominence last season with his sensational performances for Eintracht Frankfurt, managing 27 goals and 7 assists from 48 appearances (transfermarkt.com)

Tottenham were reported to be one of the clubs tracking Jovic last season before he ended up moving to Spain in the summer (CalcioMercato). So, if the forward indeed becomes available in January, they could be one of the clubs interested in taking him on loan.

Liverpool have also previously been credited with an interest in the former Frankfurt frontman (Bild).

Spurs Web Opinion

If we are to sign a forward in January to serve as Harry Kane’s understudy, it preferably has to be someone of the Llorente mould, who can play as a target man and offer us a more direct passing option. While Jovic is extremely talented, he isn’t someone capable of leading the line on his own.
