Report: Four big earners expected to be removed from Tottenham’s wage bill

According to a report by Football Insider, Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff are finally set to come off Tottenham’s payroll, with the Argentine potentially in line to become Paris Saint-Germain’s new manager.

Pochettino has been out of work since being sacked by Tottenham in November 2019 but his hiatus finally looks set to end, with reports suggesting that he could be heading to the French capital.

Thomas Tuchel was relieved of his duties on Thursday and Football Insider have claimed that Pochettino has already held two rounds of talks with the Parisians and his appointment will soon be made official.

They also claim that Tottenham have continued to pay the Argentine his £8.5million-a-year salary due to a clause in his contract.

His coaching Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Toni Jimenez have also reportedly benefitted from the same clause.

With the trio set to join Pochettino at PSG, their salaries are finally set to removed from Spurs’ wage bill.

If this is true hopefully, this along with the potential departures of Dele Alli, Davinson Sanchez and Danny Rose frees up the wage bill for a couple of new signings during the January transfer window.
