Report: Four other Premier League clubs want forward linked with Spurs move

According to a report in Turkish outlet Net Haber (as translated by TBR Football), Newcastle United, Leicester City and Burnley have joined Tottenham and Manchester United in the race for Fenerbache striker Vedat Muriqi.

Spurs were linked with a move for the Muriqi last month with Aksam reporting that the Champions League finalists made an offer for Kosovan international only for it to be rejected by Fenerbahce.

Other reports last month revealed that Manchester United were also keen on bringing the experienced centre-forward to Old Trafford (Sabah).

The 26-year-old is continuing his impressive form for the Turkish giants this season, having managed thirteen goals and five assists so far this campaign (transfermarkt).

Now, it appears that Newcastle, Leicester, and Burnley also view Muriqi as the man to solve their striker woes, while Ligue 1 side Monaco are also said to be keeping tabs on him.

So, with interest in the striker seemingly mounting, Spurs may face some real difficulties if they hope to land him in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am convinced that signing a centre forward would be one of our priorities in the summer after failing to do so last month. While Muriqi does fit the profile of the kind of striker we need to go for, I am not sure he is quite good enough for us. However, having said that, it is certainly going to be a challenge to find a top striker who is willing to play second fiddle to Kane.
