Report: Four players Spurs may offload in January and three they could look to sign

According to The Evening Standard, Jose Mourinho wants to add a midfielder and a central defender to his squad during the January transfer window.

The report claims that Mourinho’s need for a midfielder will increase if Dele Alli is to depart the club next month.

Alli is said to be keen to leave in search of regular game time and it is claimed that Tottenham would allow the midfielder to move abroad either on loan or in a permanent deal, with Paris Saint-Germain suggested as the most likely destination.

The report says that Tottenham’s transfer activity next month will be ‘dominated’ by the future of Alli.

The club’s priority is said to be to offload unwanted players, including the likes of Paulo Gazzaniga and Danny Rose.

It is asserted that a serious offer for Serge Aurier would also be considered by Spurs given his contract situation.

Tottenham are expected to go after Marcel Sabitzer should Alli depart, while Sergio Ramos and Milan Skriniar are two centre-back options that the North Londoners are said to be monitoring.

This report from Dan Kilpatrick ties in with Alasdair Gold’s and David Ornstein’s earlier reports that suggested that Tottenham do not have much money to spend in January. It sounds like any potential incomings will depend on the funds generated by player sales.
