Report: Four team-mates of Spurs star on international duty test positive for COVID-19

Goal.com are reporting that four players in the South Korean squad have tested positively for COVID-19, with their friendly against Mexico now under risk of being called-off.

Son Heung-min is part of the squad called up for South Korea’s double header against Mexico and Qatar.

Spurs fans will be relieved to know that the Tottenham forward is not among the four players who have tested positive for the virus.

The positive tests have been identified as Ulsan Hyundai’s Jo Hyeonwoo, Busan’s Lee Dongjun, Frieburg’s Kwon Changhoon and Kazan’s Hwang Inbeom.

All four players were reportedly found to be carrying the virus in a routine post-training check.

It is revealed that the rest of the squad, including Son, will be tested again prior to this evening’s clash against Mexico in Austria.

If more infections are detected, the contest could be called off as a precaution.

Tottenham will be desperately hoping that Son does not pick up the virus as a positive test for the 28-year-old might see him miss the clash against Manchester City due to the self-isolation protocols.
