Report: French club ready to sell rumoured Spurs target for £25m

The Daily Mail have claimed that Lyon are ready to sell Joachim Andersen in the summer, with Tottenham Hotspur showing interest in the central defender.

Andersen, who is on currently on loan at Fulham, has been impressive since recovering from his ankle ligament injury and his return to the side has seen an upturn in Fulham’s form under Scott Parker.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold previously revealed that the Dane is one of the options Spurs are considering as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his options at centre-back.

The Telegraph reported last week that Lyon have already received a ‘serious enquiry’ from an unnamed English club for the 24-year-old.

The Daily Mail has now alleged that Andersen has already informed Lyon of his intention to make a permanent move to the Premier League in the summer.

The report the Ligue 1 club are open to letting the centre-back leave and would accept a fee of around £25m for him.

£25m seems like a relative bargain for a player with Andersen’s potential. While the signing would entail some risk since he is unproven at a top club, I would take Andersen any day of the week to his compatriot Vestergaard.
