Report: French outlet claims Mauricio Pochettino has told PSG officials he wants to leave

Mauricio Pochettino has told Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi along with sporting director Leonardo of his desire to be released from his contract, according to French news outlet Liberation.

Pochettino only joined the French giants in January and has been heavily linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur.

The report claims that Pochettino was also wanted by Real Madrid, but the La Liga outfit instead decided to move for Everton’s Carlo Ancelotti in order to keep a healthy relationship with PSG ahead of any proposed move for Kylian Mbappe.

The 49-year-old is said to have already held talks with the North Londoners with chairman Daniel Levy said to release that he made a mistake when he dismissed the Argentine in November 2019 just a matter of months following the Champions League final (Sky Sports).

Tottenham have been without a head coach since the dismissal of Jose Mourinho on April 19th after 17 months in charge where the Portuguese decided to adopt a completely alien style of play from what fans had enjoyed witnessing under Pochettino, a high-pressing, energetic display from his players.
