Report: French publication offers update on PSG pursuit of Dele Alli loan deal

According to a report from L’Equipe (as relayed by Sport Witness), Paris Saint-Germain are continuing to hold talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential loan deal for Dele Alli but the deal is still a long way from being a certainty.

Over the past week, multiple sources have claimed (Fabrizio Romano and RMC Sport) that Tottenham are on the lookout for a replacement for Alli before letting him join PSG on loan.

It was suggested that the French club had presented various proposals to convince Daniel Levy, including offering players to the North London club in a swap deal. However, the Spurs chairman was not interested.

L’Equipe now report that PSG are continuing to hold discussions with Tottenham but the Ligue 1 giants have made it clear that they will only sign the form MK Dons man on a loan deal.

The report claims that the conditions are far from being met, despite the transfer window closing in a couple of days.

It is asserted that Alli is pushing to complete the transfer as he views it as an opportunity to ‘bounce back’ by reuniting with Mauricio Pochettino.

I would not be surprised if the injury to Harry Kane hardens Tottenham’s and Daniel Levy’s stance regarding Alli. The midfielder could potentially have an important role to play in the squad if the England captain is ruled out for a sustained period.
