Report: French winger linked with Spurs is said to have chosen his next club

Any hopes which Tottenham may have harboured of signing Marseille winger Isaac Lihadji appear to be over with reports from France indicating that the teenager has chosen to move to Lille this summer.

Lihadji broke into Marseille’s team this season and has only a couple of first-team appearances to his name (transfermarkt) but the 18-year-old is regarded very highly due to his performances for the club’s academy set up in recent times.

The youngster was ranked at 38th place in Goal’s NxGn 2020 list of the top hundred players in world football born after January 1, 2001, a couple of places higher than Tottenham starlet Troy Parrott.

Foot Mercato had previously revealed that representatives from Tottenham had made contact with the winger ahead of the January transfer window.

The same publication now claim that Lihadji has picked Lille as his next destination and will soon be penning a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 side.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Lille want Lihadji, you can almost be sure that he is going to develop into a top player. The club’s record when it comes to recruiting young players has been exceptional, especially since the arrival of Luis Campos as director of football. This is why I believe Campos is the best signing we can make this summer if Jose and Joao Sacramento can tempt him to join them in North London.
