Report: ‘Frustrated’ Man Utd player linked with summer exit amid rumoured Spurs interest

According to Manchester Evening News, Tottenham Hotspur target Dean Henderson will push to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window if he is not promoted to be the club’s number one next season.

Henderson had two excellent seasons on loan at Sheffield United but has played second fiddle to David De Gea since returning to Old Trafford in the summer.

The goalkeeper was also linked with a move to Spurs during last summer’s transfer window, with the club said to be eyeing him as a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.

MEN now claim that Henderson is still on Tottenham’s radar and that the 23-year-old is growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of game time at the former Premier League champions.

Chelsea and West Ham have also reportedly expressed interest in signing the England international.

The report suggests that Henderson is valued at £40million by the Red Devils but it is unclear if United will sanction a summer move, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer viewing him as the club’s future number one.

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see us spending anywhere close to £40m on a goalkeeper during the summer transfer window given the other areas we need to address across the pitch. We need a world-class centre-back, another defensive midfielder (unless Mourinho believes Skipp is ready), a number ten to potentially replace Dele and a striker since it seems unlikely we are going to make Vinicius’ loan deal permanent. So I believe that signing a new goalkeeper will likely not be a priority for the club.
