Report: Galatasaray and Fenerbahce may battle it out to sign Tottenham player

AS have revealed that Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are both plotting moves for Sergio Reguilon, who is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur before the window shuts.

Sergio Reguilon is a popular man

It emerged a couple of days ago that Barcelona had expressed an interest in Reguilon, with the Catalan club alleged to have enquired about the left-back’s availability (Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas).

AS now say that the La Liga giants will have competition to contend with for the Tottenham man, with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray having entered the race.

The outlet points out that Jose Mourinho is a fan of the Spaniard, having signed him at Spurs, with the Portuguese coach now allegedly asking the Yellow Canaries hierarchy to bring the defender to the club.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce both want Reguilon

However, they are expected to face competition from their local rivals Galatasaray, who are also allegedly keen on taking Reguilon to Istanbul.

The report claims that Gala are ready ready to cash in on Sergio Oliveira and Alexandru Cicaldau to fund a move for the 27-year-old.

The publication also states that the Turkish giants have a good relationship with Tottenham after agreeing deals for Davinson Sánchez and Tanguy Ndombele last summer, thus giving them an advantage in the race for Reguilon’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

Although Reguilon’s preference would likely be to return to Spain, I can see Mourinho convincing the left-back to join Fenerbahce this summer.

However, the fact that the Turkish club have been eliminated in the qualifying stages of the Champions League might come as a blow to their chances of landing the defender.
