Report: Gareth Bale makes decision regarding next club

According to a report in Don Balon (via TEAMtalk), former Tottenham attacker Gareth Bale is being lined up for a move by Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich.

The report claims that the Welshman has now set his heart on a move to Bayern, after being left unconvinced by the offers made by Tottenham and Manchester United.

The report claims that the Bavarian club have identified Bale as an alternative to Manchester City’s Leroy Sane as they believe that the 29-year-old could be more attainable this summer.

The speedy forward, who has won four Champions League titles at Madrid after moving to the Spanish capital in the summer of 2013, found playing time hard to come by last season after the return of Zinedine Zidane.

Despite the illustrious career he has enjoyed with the Los Blancos, Bale is said to be surplus to requirements at Madrid despite his agent suggesting that he is happy at the club (AS).

Spurs Web Opinion

Given Gareth Bale’s age and the wages he is earning, him moving back to Spurs was always going to be a long shot. Tottenham have made the right decision by not letting their emotions cloud their judgment as spending around £70 million on an injury prone player who will be 30 next season wouldn’t have been prudent.
