Report: Gareth Bale plots his strategy for the future

Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid has been the subject of plenty of speculation during the summer.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane revealed during the club’s pre-season tour of the USA that he was hopeful that the 30-year old would depart the club and they were working on his departure (Independent).

It is now being reported by the Daily Mail that the Welshman is prepared to hold firm for the pressure to increase on Zidane and wait for him to be sacked until the China transfer window re-opens.

He had looked set to end his spell in La Liga with a switch to Chinese Super League club Jinagsu Suning, only for the move to be cancelled by the club (talkSPORT).

Bale was linked with a potential £10million loan move back to North London earlier in the summer transfer window but a move failed to materialise (The Sun).

Spurs were otherwise active in the window having recruited Tanguy Ndombele, Jack Clarke, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon.

Opinion

The chances of Bale ever returning to Spurs have to be regarded as slim considering his £600,000-a-week salary, which is considerably more than any of Mauricio Pochettino’s players earn.
