Report: Gareth Bale tells Madrid whether he wants to stay or leave

Tottenham Hotspur will surely be looking to invest big this summer after a hiatus of two previous transfer windows. In fact, the newest face around Hotspur way is still Lucas Moura, despite him joining way back in January 2018.

However, Spurs may have to look towards new talent if they want a big name signing, as ex-Tottenham player Gareth Bale appears to be going nowhere.

Bale is currently plying his trade at Real Madrid, but has been less than popular among the supporters this season, prompting rumours surrounding his immediate future.

The Welshman has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Spurs and Man United the two favourites to sign him (Mirror).

AS now report that Bale has told the board at Real Madrid that he intends to remain at the club next season.

However, the same report claims that Bale would have a secondary role in the team if he is to stay, so it could come down to money of first-team football for the forward.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Bale is staying at Madrid out of pride, with the intent to prove his worth, then fair enough. However, if he is staying for the money alone, it is time for him to move on. The Welsh winger could earn upwards of £200k a week at other clubs across Europe, and be treated with more respect too.
