Report: Gareth Bale’s arrival expected to result in one attack-minded player departing

Gareth Bale’s impending return to Tottenham Hotspur is expected to see one attacking player leave the club, according to The Times.

The report claims that Dele Alli and Erik Lamela are the most likely to be the player who would depart North London once the 31-year-old puts pen to paper.

Lamela was one of seven signings made by Tottenham following Bale’s £85.3 million move (Daily Mail) to Real Madrid in 2013 with the Argentine recruited from Roma as a like for like replacement for the Welshman (Bleacher Report).

Dele is said to have been offered to the Spanish giants on a loan basis as part of the deal to bring back Bale to North London only for Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane to snub the proposal (AS).

The Frenchman was said to have been left angry by Dele’s comments in 201 when he claimed he should have scored a hat-trick in Tottenham’s 3-1 Champions League win against Madrid at Wembley.
