Report: Gedson Fernandes set to reject Torino in favour of different club on loan

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Gedson Fernandes is set to end his loan spell at Tottenham and could join Galatasaray until the end of the season.

Fernandes has barely been handed any game time this season as Jose Mourinho had to leave him out of the Tottenham’s Europa League group stage squad due to the club’s issues with meeting the foreign-trained player limit.

The Tottenham boss has admitted that the North London club have been in conversation with Benfica over cutting short the midfielder’s loan spell, which was initially supposed to run till the end of the season.

It was previously suggested that the 22-year-old could return to Benfica and complete a loan move to Torino for the remainder of the campaign.

However, reports in Turkey suggested this week (Sabah via Inside Futbol) that Galatasaray had entered the race for the Portugal Under-21 international.

Tuttomercatoweb now claim that Fernandes is set to reject Torino in favour of a move to the Turkish giants.

Spurs Web Opinion

Fernandes has been unlucky with how little game time he has got at Spurs. It is hard to judge him based on how little we have seen of him but he has certainly shown glimpses of quality. I would not be surprised if he makes a big impact at Galatasaray this season.
