Report: German club name asking price for striker wanted by Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be at the front of the queue of clubs vying for Borussia Monchengladbach striker Alassane Plea this summer, according to a report from Germany.

The striker has been in sensational form for Gladbach this season, with the club currently sitting in fourth place in the Bundesliga table.

Speculation involving Plea’s future has gone into overdrive this month. Sky in Germany (via Buli News) reported this week that Manchester United are ready to accelerate their efforts to land the French striker.

Bild now reports that Spurs are particularly keen on Plea but face competition from Manchester United, Leicester City, and Arsenal for the former Nice man.

The report claims that Plea is expected to leave Gladbach this season with the Bundesliga club said to be ready to accept an offer of around €35 to €40 million for the striker.

Spurs Web Opinion

Plea would be an excellent addition for us as his versatility is a real asset. He has proven this season that he is adept at leading the line and he also has the attributes to play out wide or even partner Harry Kane up front. I suspect Gladbach will likely have to reduce their asking price in the coming months.
