Report: German club ready to sell rumoured Spurs target in the summer

According to a report by SportBild, RB Leipzig are ready to sell Tottenham Hotspur target Marcel Sabitzer in the summer.

Tottenham did not make any new signings in the January transfer window but a whole host of players were linked with a move to Spurs, with the Sabitzer being one of the names who was most frequently mentioned as a target (Evening Standard).

Reports indicate that the North Londoners could end up pursuing the Austrian international again in the summer.

The 26-year-old’s current deal at the Red Bull Arena runs until the summer of 2022 with Leipzig chief Oliver Mintzlaff having previously said that the club will hold talks with the midfielder over extending his stay.

However, SportBild have now claimed that the Bundesliga club have positioned themselves to sell Sabitzer in the summer transfer window.

It is suggested that Dominik Szoboszlai was signed as a natural replacement for the Sabitzer, with the report mentioning Tottenham as the most likely destination for the former Rapid Wien midfielder.

With Eriksen leaving the club last season and Alli struggling for game time this campaign, goals from midfield have completely dried up. Getting Sabitzer would help remedy that problem but the Austrian is likely to attract plenty of interest if he becomes available.
