Report: German starlet wanted by Spurs could be available for just £4.5m

According to a report in Revier Sport, rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Armel Bella-Kotchap could be available for a relatively modest price when the transfer market opens in the summer.

The Paris-born defender has received some rave reviews after breaking into VfL Bochum’s first-team this season and establishing himself as a mainstay in the club’s backline.

The teenager’s performances in the German second division have not gone unnoticed as he has already been capped for Germany Under-18s and has been tipped to achieve big things in the future.

The Sun reported back in March that Tottenham were one of several Premier League sides chasing the 18-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

Revier Sport now reveals that VfL Bochum are ready to cash in on the talented defender this summer as the club find themselves in a difficult financial situation due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite signing a new deal that runs until 2024, it is revealed that Bella-Kotchap could be sold this summer for around €5 million (£4.5m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on the links to the likes of Bella-Kotchap, Kim-Min Jae, and Robin Koch, it does appear as if Tottenham could be pursuing a deal for a young, upcoming, centre-half rather than an established star. That would make sense since Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez have earned Jose Mourinho’s trust since the restart. I would not be surprised if the trio are our three main centre-backs going into next season.
