Report: Harry Kane believes situation has been ‘blown out of proportion’

Harry Kane is due to return to Hotspur Way later this week with the club aware of his situation, according to the Evening Standard’s chief football correspondent, Dan Kilpatrick.

The journalist has claimed that Kane believes the whole situation surrounding the events which have taken place over the last 24 hours have been blown out of proportion.

The BBC reported yesterday that the England captain had failed to report to the club’s Hotspur Way training facility to undergo a coronavirus test before resuming training with the rest of the Spurs squad from today.

Sky Sports revealed that Tottenham were set to hand Kane a fine over his actions, with the player said to be keen to make a move to Manchester City.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not prepared to sell the 28-year-old to a rival Premier League side and would only look to entertain offers of around £150million should they arrive from a foreign club (The Athletic).

For Kane to claim that the situation has been blown out of proportion is remarkable, if he was due to report on Monday, he should have.

Given the fact that he is labelled as a role model and England, he should be setting a better example both to the younger players at the club and to those outside.
