Report: Harry Kane booed at his own home stadium

The new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been a mixed bag for academy graduate Harry Kane so far in 2019, with some good memories and some painful.

Kane picked up an ankle injury in one of the very first games held at the stadium when Spurs welcomed Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final.

He was then out injured for over a month that followed, making it back just in time for thousands to watch him on the big screens at the new White Hart Lane in the Champions League Final.

Kane returned to the stadium for the first match of the new season and scored two in front of his home fans, also picking up wins against Southampton and Crystal Palace. However, the England captain was also involved in the humiliating 7-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern.

The Sun now report that Kane was booed at the stadium when his name was read out this weekend, as the Spurs striker was a special guest at the Oakland Raiders vs Chicago Bears NFL clash held at the new stadium.

This comical booing probably had something to do with Kane being a New England Patriots fan himself and the jeering came from NFL fans who support different football teams from around the country.

Let’s hope that the Spurs fans won’t be following suit any time soon though.
