Report: Harry Kane could return to action next week

The Sun have reported that Tottenham are now optimistic that star striker Harry Kane could return to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League next week.

The forward has been out with an ankle injury since the loss to Man United at Wembley in January, in which Kane was on the wrong end of a late Phil Jones challenge.

The 25-year-old was supposed to be out until early-March, but he is known for his early recoveries, especially when it comes to these reoccurring ankle problems he keeps picking up.

The Sun say that Spurs’ medical team is now quietly confident that the England captain can pull off another early return.

The report names Dortmund as a potential aim for Kane’s comeback, although it seems almost impossible that he would be named from the start in this tie.

Pochettino may now have one eye on the Premier League title race, and will surely not rush Kane back and risk further injury.
