Report: Harry Kane is now ‘open to joining’ Premier League rival this summer

The Daily Mail have reported that Harry Kane is open to joining Manchester United in the summer as he enters the final 12 months of his Tottenham contract.

The Red Devils and Erik ten Hag are reportedly on the lookout for a new number nine in the summer window, with Ronaldo having left and Wout Weghourst joining on a loan deal.

The England captain is said to be among the preferred names on Man United’s list, and the club chiefs have already started exploring whether a deal would be possible.

News that may be worrying for Spurs fans is that Kane himself is apparently open to the idea of swapping London for Manchester, despite being a Tottenham player for the entirety of his career.

The Mail reiterate that Spurs would like to extend Kane’s contract, but there is ‘negativity’ about their chances of persuading him to put pen to paper. As such, Daniel Levy will reportedly ask for at least £85m for the striker this summer, if not more for Premier League rivals.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Every year, I have always had the feeling that Kane would stay or that Levy would at least refuse to sell. This summer is the first I genuinely think he will leave. The only thing that may stop him from departing is whether a club would prefer to wait and sign him for free in 2024.
