Report: Harry Kane lined up to appear in movie next year

If you ask any Tottenham fan to list the greatest club legends of all time, you will almost certainly hear the name Jimmy Greaves repeated over and over again.

Racking up 379 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions between 1961 and 1970, Greaves found the net a whopping 266 times in a Lilywhite shirt, the club’s all-time leading scorer.

Bobby Smith and Martin Chivers take second and third in the Tottenham scoring charts, followed by a certain Mr Harry Kane, who already has 164 goals in 252 games for Spurs.

It has been reported by the Mirror that Harry Kane is now set to star in an upcoming movie about Jimmy Greaves, to celebrate the Spurs legend’s 80th birthday.

The documentary is aiming for a February 20, 2020, release, but producers need to raise £200,000 in funding for the project.

Actors Micheal Caine and Ray Winstone, TV host Michael Parkinson, and football figures Harry Kane, Pat Jennings, and Harry Redknapp are set to appear in the movie.

All profits would go towards the constant care that Greaves now needs after suffering a stroke, paralysing him down his right side.

Jim’s son, Danny, had this to say on the project: “As a family, we’re very supportive. Dad had such an incredible career and life off the field.

“He was one of the finest players this country ever produced – his record would say he’s the best goalscorer we’ve ever produced.

“And he was a trailblazer for those with health problems, for those with alcoholism.

“He was the first to be upfront about that.”
