Report: Heung-min Son has asked Jose Mourinho to sign this player for Spurs

According to the latest reports from Italy, Lazio are now expected to complete a deal for central defender Kim Min-Jae, although the Serie A club are wary of a late push from Tottenham Hotspur for the central defender.

Tottenham were previously reported to be the front runners for the central defender’s signature (Sports.news.naver via TEAMtalk) but it has since been said that Lazio have moved ahead of the Lilywhites in the race (Il Messaggero via Calcio Mercato).

Reports from Italy now suggest that Lazio are on the verge of completing a deal to sign the 23-year-old.

La Lazio Siamo Noi claim that the Serie A side’s proposal of €13m plus €2m in bonuses for the South Korean has been accepted by Beijing Guoan with the Italians even holding a meeting with Kim’s entourage a few days ago.

However, they also claim that Spurs could still re-kindle their interest in the central defender before the summer window shuts.

Meanwhile, Il Messaggero (as relayed by Sport Witness) also reveal that Kim could be on his way to the Italian capital after Lazio overcame an obstacle regarding agent fees.

They too suggest that Tottenham could make a late attempt to snap up the centre-back, with Son Heung-min said to be pressuring Jose Mourinho to sign his international teammate.

Spurs Web Opinion

While a central defender is rumoured to be on our radar, it is not as much of a priority as a new striker is. It is clear that Jose trusts Sanchez, Dier and Alderweireld and so I do not expect us to bring in a central defender who is likely to be a starter for us immediately. Kim fit the bill in terms of his age and potential but it appears as if he is Lazio bound.
