Report: Heung-min Son joins exclusive Spurs club with Defoe and Kane

Heung-min Son joined a very exclusive club on Thursday night when he guided a clinical header past the Wolfsberger keeper in the Europa League.

Son opened the scoring early on in the game after latching onto a Gareth Bale cross, with Spurs eventually running away 4-1 winners in the first leg of the Round of 32 tie.

In doing so, the South Korean became only the fourth player in Tottenham’s history to score 20 European goals (not including qualifiers).

Son is now alongside a very exclusive list that contains Harry Kane, Martin Chivers and Jermain Defoe who have scored 29, 22 and 20 European goals in a Lilywhite shirt respectively (Football London).

The Spurs winger has been in amazing form so far this season, already racking up 18 goals and 12 assists across 35 games in all competitions, including 13 goals in the Premier League (TransferMarkt).

However, Son will be hoping that his European goals next season come in the Champions League as Spurs continue to chase a top-four place or Europa League win.
