Report: Heung-min Son receives results of latest COVID test on South Korea duty

Goal.com journalist Steve Han has revealed that one staff member from South Korea’s camp has tested positive for COVID-19 in the latest rounds of testing.

Six players from the South Korean squad tested positive ahead of their international friendly against Mexico on Saturday.

Thankfully for Tottenham, Son Heung-min was not one of the six and played all ninety minutes in their 3-2 defeat to the Mexicans.

The six players in question are currently quarantining in Austria and the 19 other players in the squad who previously tested negative were subject to another test on Monday.

Han confirmed that none of the other 19 had tested positive for the virus but a team staffer had tested positive and was immediately quarantined.

He revealed that South Korea’s friendly against Qatar on Tuesday is scheduled to go ahead as things stand.

With Tottenham learning today that Doherty will likely miss the clash against Manchester City after contracting the virus, they will be desperately hoping that Son returns to Hotspur Way unscathed.
