Report highlights the difficulty Spurs face over potential Christian Eriksen return

The Guardian have suggested that Tottenham Hotspur could potentially look to bring Christian Eriksen back to the club as a replacement for Dele Alli.

The report claims that while the North Londoners are against the possibility of Dele leaving the club this month, any potential exit would depend on a replacement being lined up.

Eriksen has endured a tough time at Inter Milan following his move to the Serie A giants last January in a deal worth £16.9million (BBC).

Any prospect of Eriksen returning to Spurs where he spent seven years would depend on the deal being financially attractive, with the report suggesting that it would be difficult to structure the finances for the Dane.

The 28-year-old has failed to appear in any of Inter’s last four Serie A matches and has only started four of the fifteen games played in the competition to date (transfermarkt).

It is claimed that with Giovani Lo Celso set to be on the sidelines for the majority of the month, Jose Mourinho fully acknowledges he will need all of his players to navigate a hectic fixture schedule.
