Report: Highly-rated young midfielder is on Tottenham’s ‘list’ in January

According to a report by BILD (as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai.

Szoboszla, who has started this campaign in impressive form for RB Salzburg is said to have made clubs across Europe sit up and take notice.

Spurs were linked with a move for the versatile youngster during the previous transfer window (Alessandro Jacobone via Football Fancast) but interest in the 20-year-old has reportedly grown substantially since then.

90min.com reported last week that Tottenham were facing competition from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Wolves, Leicester and Everton in the Premier League, as well as clubs on the continent including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund from across the continent to secure the midfielder’s signature.

Szoboszlai has also scored on three occasions three times for Hungary, which included last-minute winner against Iceland last week which helped his country to qualify for the postponed Euro 2020.

BILD have now indicated that the North Londoners are one of the front-runners to land Szoboszlai, with the RB Salzburg player ‘on the list’ for Tottenham in January.

The youngster reportedly has a release clause of little over £20m.
