The Irish Examiner have revealed that promising Shamrock Rovers youngster Justin Ferizaj is currently training with Tottenham Hotspur with a view to making a permanent move to the Premier League side.
Ferizaj was promoted to the Shamrock Rovers senior side towards the end of last season and has developed into one of the hottest prospects in Ireland since. The 18-year-old has just 16 appearances to his name (Transfermarkt), but is currently being courted by Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite only breaking through in the last 12 months, Ferizaj already has experience in the qualifying stages of the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Europa Conference League.
The defensive midfielder has represented the Republic of Ireland at under 19 level on four occasions already, too, and bagged his first international goal back in September of last year (Transfermarkt).
According to the report from the Irish Examiner, Ferizaj could be moving on from his homeland soon, though. The youngster has been training with Tottenham Hotspur this week, and there’s a chance that stay in North London could be a permanent one.
The publication claims Tottenham could be willing to make a six-figure offer for Ferizaj. It is thought the player will have to take part in a training match with Spurs before the club makes their decision, however, with a game lined up tomorrow in which Ferizaj could participate.
Ferizaj signed a new contract with Shamrock Rovers in the summer of 2022 (Pundit Arena) but has since attracted interest from Spurs, as well as Serie A side Sampdoria, according to the Irish Examiner.

We really need to be doing more of this – finding talented young players and bringing them into our development squads. The youth teams at Tottenham are struggling this season and it’s clear we lack the depth and quality to compete with other clubs at that level, so getting a relatively experienced youngster like Ferizaj in there would be great.
