Report hints Everton could still sell Gordon if they get desperate for funds

According to The Sun, Everton could still look to offload Anthony Gordon in order to raise funds for incoming transfers, with Newcastle United willing to offer bumper wages and around £40m.

Having already recruited Richarlison from the Toffees this summer, Sky Sports reported that Spurs were interested in a double deal involving Gordon.

The Lilywhites are reportedly looking to add young, English talent to their books in order to develop them over time (Sky Sports – 27/06/22 – at 13:02).

The Sun claim that Everton are looking to sanction moves for Wolves’ Morgan Gibbs-White and Burnley’s Maxwell Cornet and could look to sell Gordon in order to raise funds, although they would rather not part with him.

Newcastle are said to be ready to offer a £40 million fee and give the England Under-21 international a bumper contract.

Spurs Web Opinion

I’m a big fan of Gordon but I see any deal as a nonstarter. Whilst Spurs are now stacked in the wide-attacking positions with Richarlison’s arrival and Lucas Moura providing cover to Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski, Everton fans would be furious if a homegrown, scouse talent was allowed to leave the club after the season that they have just endured.
