Report: How Chelsea may have scuppered Spurs’ move for Roma star

According to a recent report, Chelsea may have scuppered Tottenham’s chances of landing a prime transfer target this summer (Corriero dello Sport).

Spurs have been linked with a move for Roma wonderkid Nicolo Zaniolo for some time now, with recent reports even stating that a player plus cash deal involving Toby Alderweireld could be agreed (Sun).

However, Juventus are also said to be keen on the young Italian winger, and they may have just been handed a boost by Chelsea in their pursuit of the up-and-coming star.

Chelsea chose not to sign Gonzalo Higuain on a permanent deal after his loan spell last season in London, meaning that he has returned to Juve (Independent).

Roma are apparently now keen on taking the 31-year-old striker and they may use Nicolo Zaniolo as part of the deal for the veteran (Express).

Spurs would have to spend big money to land the Roma starlet this summer, especially after already breaking their transfer record to sign Tanguy Ndombele last week (BBC).
