Report: How Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has done since leaving Spurs in the summer

When Tottenham signed Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Marseille in the summer of 2016, it is fair to say that there was some excitement among Spurs fans.

The winger looked to have pace to burn and the trickery to trouble defenders as a rising star in Ligue 1. Supporters could have been forgiven for expecting him to hit new heights under Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.

However, the wide-man never quite managed to get a run in the first-team during his time in North London.

Following a couple of unsuccessful loan spells with Burnley and Monaco, Spurs finally decided to cut their losses on the winger, selling him to Besiktas for £4.6million last summer (Evening Standard).

Football.London has now provided an update on how the 25-year-old is getting on Turkey.

They reveal that the former Spurs man has settled down quickly in his new surroundings and is finally showing the signs of fulfilling his early potential.

Journalist Kevin Beirne claims it hasn’t taken long for Nkoudou to establish himself as a key part of Besiktas’ senior side.

Although the pacey winger’s output of three goals and three assists in all competitions since his move to Turkey (transfermarkt) isn’t too much to shout about, Nkoudou has put in some impressive displays both in the Super Lig and the Europa League.

Spurs Web Opinion

Nkoudou certainly had the raw talent to succeed in the Premier League. He showed rare glimpses of this at Tottenham and there were times that I thought he could potentially challenge for a first-team spot. However, he just seemed to lack the intensity and mentality required to fight for his place against top-class players.
