Sky Deutschland have claimed that Bayern Munich would be able to land Eric Deir from Tottenham Hotspur for less than €5m (£4.3m).
The speculation linking Dier with a move to Bayern has gathered steam over the past few days, with the England international now being backed to follow Harry Kane from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to the Allianz Arena.
On Sunday, Football Insider reported that the Bundesliga giants are ready to make an official offer for the centre-back after agreeing personal terms with the player.
The outlet said that Kane had played a pivotal role by endorsing the signing to the Bayern hierarchy and also speaking to his former teammate about life in Bavaria.
The publication asserted that Thomas Tuchel had already held a discussion with the 29-year-old about the role he would play in his side.
Bayern Munich would have to pay a fee for Eric Dier
Sky Deutschland have now also claimed that there has been dialogue between Tuchel and Dier, but they say that the move is far from certain.
The outlet makes it clear that the German club are also considering other options apart from the Spurs star as they look to strengthen their backline.
The publication asserts that now that there is a ‘verbal agreement’ between the England international and Bayern, it would cost less than €5m (£4.3m) for Tuchel’s men to get the transfer over the line.
Spurs Web Opinion
Given that Dier has just six months left on his contract at Tottenham, he was always going to fetch a low transfer fee. However, there might be some twists and turns in this transfer saga as Bayern may be looking at the 29-year-old as a fallback option rather than as their top centre-back target.
