Report: How much Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr now earn per week at Spurs

The Athletic have revealed that after signing new contracts at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season, both Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr currently earn around £50k per week at the club.

Coming into the season, there were some doubts about whether Udogie could play the inverted full-back role in Ange Postecoglou’s system.

Not only was the left-back relatively inexperienced but he had exclusively played as a wing-back at Udinese, which was the position he was signed to play at Spurs under Antonio Conte.

Meanwhile, Sarr had hardly got a look-in under Conte last season, with the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Oliver Skipp and Yves Bissouma being ahead of the Senegalese star in the pecking order.

Udogie and Sarr become key players for Tottenham

However, right from the first game under Postecoglou, the left-back and the midfielder have both been indispensable parts of the Spurs side.

The Italian has arguably been up there with the best left-backs in the Premier League this season, looking increasingly comfortable in the inverted full-back role.

Meanwhile, Sarr has also become a vital cog of the new-look Tottenham side, with his engine in the middle of the park proving a huge asset for the side.

Both players have unsurprisingly been rewarded with new deals, with Udogie signing a contract until 2030 back in December and Sarr also following suit last month.

According to The Athletic, both players now take home £50k per week, which is a substantial increase, considering they were only on £10k per week previously (Spotrac).

While £50k per week still puts both players among the lower end of the salaries in the Tottenham first-team, the pay rise was substantial given that they had only had a few months of regular first-team football under their belt.

The club would be open to revising the pair’s salaries again within a year or two if they continue developing at the pace that they currently are.
