Report: How much Destiny Udogie will earn from his new Tottenham contract

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Destiny Udogie’s new five-and-half-year contract comes with an option of a further year, while CalcioMercato state he will earn €2 million per year from the deal.

Udogie was originally signed by Tottenham to play as a left wing-back for Antonio Conte’s system, with the youngster thriving in that role at Udinese.

However, he was tasked with the challenge of adapting to the inverted left-back role in Ange Postecoglou’s system and he has done so seamlessly, arguably being the best player in his position across the Premier League so far this season.

In fact, some sources over the last two months have even mooted him as a potential target for Real Madrid in the near future (Radio Marca).

That is perhaps why Spurs have acted swiftly to tie Udogie down, with reports on Monday indicating that the 21-year-old has agreed a new deal with the North London club (The Athletic) which was then confirmed by Tottenham today.

This is a major coup for Tottenham as there is no doubt that Udogie is well on his way to becoming one of the best in the world in his position. The 21-year-old could potentially be an important player for the club for a decade or more.
