Report: How much Inter are willing to bid for Spurs-linked Marcus Thuram

Rudy Galetti has revealed on his official website that Inter Milan are now leading the race to sign Tottenham target Marcus Thuram in January.

The list of clubs who are reportedly after Thuram has grown steadily over recent weeks, which is not surprising given that the winger is expected to be available for just €10m (£8.6m) in January due to his contract running out at the end of the season (Nicolo Schira).

Spurs and Arsenal are alleged to be ‘working on the operation’ to sign the French international (17/11/22 Gazzetta via Sport Witness) while Newcastle United (The Sun) and Inter Milan (CalcioMercato) have also been credited with an interest in the player recently.

Galetti has now suggested that the Nerazzurri have an ‘advantage’ over other suitors as their talks with Thuram’s entourage are already ‘well underway’.

The journalist states that Simone Inzaghi’s men are ready to offer €5m (£4.3m) to Borussia Monchengladbach and a salary of €4.5m (£3.8m) to the attacker.

However, Galetti adds that Inter would need to raise funds through player sales before pushing ahead with a move for Thuram.

Inter’s reported offer seems to fall short of Gladbach’s asking price while their salary proposal to Thuram is not too high either. So, one would expect Premier League clubs to be able to blow the Nerazzurri out of the water in terms of the salary and transfer fee they can offer for the 25-year-old.
