Report: How much Parrott is said to earn with his new Spurs contract

Tottenham Hotspur handed a significant pay rise to Troy Parrott in order to convince him to sign a new deal according to reports.

Spurs announced on Friday that Parrott has signed a new deal that runs until 2023.

Parrott has seen no game time in recent weeks even though he is the only fit striker at the club with Harry Kane currently sidelined due to the hamstring injury he suffered on New Year’s Day.

Yet, despite Jose Mourinho admitting that the youngster is not yet ready to handle the pressure of filling the void left by Kane (Football.London), some Spurs fans were delighted to see Parrott commit his future to the club.

A report by Football Insider reveals that clubs including Bayern Munich were interested in signing the 18-year-old striker and that Spurs had to offer him a big contract to ward off interest.

It is suggested that the new deal which the Republic of Ireland international has penned in North London is worth nearly £20,000-a-week, a substantial pay rise for the teenager who has made just one Premier League appearance for the club so far.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is a fantastic move for us to get him signed but he needs to be playing competitive football if he is to continue his development. Hopefully, we send him on loan next season to a side where he can get minutes. I just can’t see him getting enough matches at Spurs next campaign as I believe we will sign another striker in the summer.
