According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur agreed to pay more than £5m to Tanguy Ndombele to terminate the remainder of his contract.

Tanguy Ndombele leaves Tottenham by mutual consent
Ndombele struggled to get much game time during his loan spell at Galatasaray last season and it was subsequently widely reported that the Frenchman’s five-year spell at Tottenham would come to an end this summer.
A few days ago, Foot Mercato claimed that Spurs were ready to terminate the midfielder’s contract this summer, with the report stating that the player will ‘soon separate amicably’ with the North London club.
That turned out to be true, with Tottenham officially announcing today that Ndombele had parted ways with the club following a 5-year spell in N17.
They wrote: ‘The Club can confirm the departure of Tanguy Ndombele following the mutual termination of his contract, effective from 30 June, upon the conclusion of his current loan spell. Wishing you all the best for the future, Tanguy.’

Pay-off agreed between Spurs and Ndombele
Football Insider have now confirmed that a settlement was struck between Spurs and Ndombele’s entourage, ahead of the former Lyon leaving as a free agent.
It is explained that that Tottenham had been in negotiations with the France internaitonal for the past few months and eventually agreed to pay him £5m to terminate the year left on his £200,000-a-week contract.
Galatasaray are not expected to re-sign the 27-year-old ahead of next season.

This was always going to be Tottenham’s only option on the back of Ndombele’s struggles in Turkey.
This transfer will undoubtedly go down as the worst in the club’s history and serves as a cautionary tale against signing players without sufficient research on their personalities and attitudes.
