Report: How much Spurs are willing to pay Real Madrid for Gareth Bale transfer

Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in re-signing their old Welsh winger Gareth Bale this month, seven years after he left North London for Madrid.

During his time in Spain, Bale has helped Los Blancos to four Champions League titles, including a record three in a row, but remains an unpopular figure among many fans.

Spurs have apparently now reignited their interest in bringing him back to England, with the Express even stating that Daniel Levy has met with the Real Madrid president.

Bale has only managed two goals in 14 appearances so far this season, well below his normal averages. In total, the Welshman has netted 104 goals in 245 games for Madrid (Wikipedia).

During his last two seasons at Spurs, Bale scored 38 goals in 86 games for the Lilywhites, a goal-scoring ability they could certainly do with at the moment.

It has been claimed by Spanish football expert, Juanfe Sanz, that Spurs are willing to pay around £25m for Bale this month (El Chiringuito TV).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Does the deal make sense, not really. Is it true? Probably not. But I would absolutely love to see Bale back in a Spurs shirt for the nostalgia alone. And for that price, why not?
