Report: How much Spurs have paid in agent fees over the last year

The Football Association have released details regarding the total commissions that all 20 Premier League clubs have paid to agents from January 31 2022 to January 31 of this year, with Tottenham having paid a little over £16m.

Agents have become an increasingly more prominent part of the football landscape over the last decade and they now receive a significant slice of the pie for their efforts in facilitating transfers for their clients.

According to the FA’s latest figures from the end of the 2022 January transfer window to the conclusion of the most recent one, Spurs have paid the sixth highest for total agent fees in the Premier League at £16.1m.

Unsurprisingly, it is the other five of the so-called ‘bix six’ who have paid more commissions to representatives than Tottenham.

Manchester City have spent the most, having paid over £51m to agents in that 12-month period while Chelsea are not too far behind at £43.1m.

Tottenham’s North London rivals, Arsenal have paid £16.7m to agents in that period, only around £600k more than the Lilywhites.

Spurs Web Opinion

Fans and pundits tend to ignore agent fees as well as the value of contracts handed out to players when discussing spending, focusing primarily just on the transfer fees paid.

This is a big mistake and tends to skew the way we look at the level of each club’s spending.
