Report: How much Spurs will accept for Eriksen in the final week of the transfer window

It looks like many Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur are in for a nervous few days as they wait for the European transfer window to shut on September 2nd.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has already admitted that it was a mistake for the Premier League clubs to agree on closing the transfer window before the rest of Europe (Sky Sports).

The player whose future has been subject to most speculation over the summer is midfielder Christian Eriksen.

Pochettino conceded that Eriksen, who has one year left on his contract with Spurs, could still leave the club this summer should Spurs receive a bid for the playmaker (Football.London).

It was reported a few days ago that there were only three clubs that the 27-year-old would consider moving to – Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus (ESPN).

Now, The Daily Mail have reported that the Danish international will be allowed to leave should the club receive a bid of £50 million for him.

The report claims that Daniel Levy is keen to ensure that Spurs don’t lose him for free next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on Pochettino’s comments, it looks extremely likely that Eriksen will leave the club before the close of the European transfer window. We at Spurs Web believe that would be a major blow for Spurs hopes of competing with last season’s top 2. If Eriksen does leave, Tottenham must act swiftly in January to bring in a star-studded replacement.
