Report: How much Tottenham are willing to offer Eriksen to convince him to stay

Some fans may argue that a player should not need convincing to stay at a club like Tottenham, but the harsh reality is that money talks in the modern game.

The Daily Mail report that Eriksen is currently on just £80,000 in North London, a value that surely does not represent his market value in terms of wages.

The Great Dane was benched for the season opener against Aston Villa at the weekend, but he soon proved his doubters wrong with a 26-minute cameo.

Eriksen came off the bench at 1-0 to Villa, and flipped the game on its head, walking off the turf as part of a 3-1 winning Spurs team.

The Daily Mail also claim that Spurs are willing to offer Eriksen £200,000 per week on a long-term deal.

However, there are apparently doubts that even this amount of money would convince him to stay.

The report adds that, even if he does sign, Eriksen would likely insist on a release clause.
