Report: How much Tottenham are willing to pay to sign Albert Gudmundsson

Calicomercato.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to outbid various Serie A clubs in the race for Genoa attacker Albert Gudmundsson next summer.

Spurs raided Genoa for Radu Dragusin in January and since the closure of the transfer window, it has been suggested by various outlets that the Lilywhites are now plotting a move for another one of Rossoblu’s stars.

The player in question is Gudmundsson, who has 11 goals and three assists across all competitions so far, with Ange Postecoglou’s men alleged to be keeping close tabs on the player (Genova Today).

Spurs could blow the competition out of the water

It has now been revealed by Calicomercato.it that Tottenham are far from alone in their admiration of Gudmundsson, with the likes of Napoli and Fiorentina also said to be keeping an eye on the versatile attacker, who can operate as a number ten or in either flank.

However, the report says that Tottenham have the advantage as they would be ‘able to put a significant sum on the table’ for the Icelandic international. It is alleged that the Premier League side would even be prepared to spend over €30m (£25.5m) on the player next summer.

The publication points out that Spurs have raided the Serie A for several players over recent years and could do repeat their trick with the Dragusin deal by seeing off competition from other Italian sides for Gudmundsson.

Tottenham would not have any trouble offering a higher salary or a bigger transfer fee than the likes of Napoli and Fiorentina. The Lilywhites also have a working relationship with Genoa on the back of the Dragusin deal, which they can use to their favour in their pursuit of the Icelandic star.
