Report: How Spurs are feeling about Heung-min Son signing a new contract

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are now ‘confident’ that Son Heung-min will put pen to paper on a new long-term deal at the club.

The same outlet had previously reported back in February that Spurs were determined to keep Son away from the clutches of Saudi Arabain clubs by tying him down to a new deal.

It was asserted that the North London club had already reached out to their captain regarding a contract extension.

Spurs now confident about Heung-min Son contract

According to Football Insider’s latest update, there is now confidence at Hotspur Way after the talks with Son’s entourage that he will pen a new deal.

All parties now expect an agreement to be reached, with the South Korean set to be handed a ‘huge’ pay package that reflects his value and importance to the club.

However, it is made clear that the 31-year-old will not be signing the extension before the end of the season as he is now fully focused on helping the club get back into the Champions League.

Spurs Web Opinion

Son does appear to be enjoying his football under Postecoglou and the side has shown enough promise this season to suggest that they can achieve something special over the next year or two.

Singing a new contract would certainly be a big show of faith by Son towards the club and Postecoglou as this will be the last big contract of his career, with the player set to turn 32 this summer.
