Report: How Tottenham feel about Ange Postecoglou exit rumours

Despite speculation linking Ange Postecoglou with a switch to Liverpool at the end of the season, the feeling from within Tottenham Hotspur is that the manager will be staying put, and there are no concerns over his future.

When Ange Postecoglou arrived at Tottenham last summer, he came with many doubters and critics, despite having been successful at every club he has coached before, including a treble-winning campaign at Celtic last year.

Postecoglou quickly proved those doubters wrong, getting impressive performances out of his Spurs side and the results to match. Even with a particularly tricky injury crisis, the Australian has pulled his team out the other side and they remain in contention for a top-four spot this term.

With exciting football, excellent man-management skills, and a charming personality, Postecoglou has won the world of football over and then some. So much so, that he is now being linked with a move away from Spurs already.

Postecoglou is staying put at Tottenham

In the wake of Jurgen Klopp‘s announcement that he would step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the season, it has been claimed that Postecoglou is on the Reds’ shortlist to replace the German (The Athletic).

Now, a report from Football.London has quashed those rumours, suggesting Tottenham are confident their manager is going nowhere any time soon.

The report states Spurs have “no fears” over Postecoglou’s commitment to the project in North London. Having “transformed” the club and provided a “breath of fresh air” for all those connected, Tottenham are keen to keep hold of their manager, naturally.

Links to Manchester City and Liverpool are not worrying for Tottenham, and it is believed Postecoglou is “excited” about the work he has to do at the club. People close to Postecoglou describe him as “loyal” and suggest he sees great “potential” in his current role.

Spurs Web Opinion

Ange Postecoglou is not the kind of man to be swayed by nostalgia or money, so the idea of him abandoning Tottenham after one year to join his boyhood club or to play with the shiny toys at City just doesn’t make sense at all. He’s going nowhere.
